Our Clients
Milton and Sherry Tang are busy professionals who were preparing to welcome their new baby girl when this renovation began.
After finding A-Z Construction Solutions through a Google search, they partnered with our team to transform their home into a more functional and welcoming space for their growing family. Completing the renovation before their daughter arrived was an important priority. When we first met them, they were a family of three with their little dog; by the time the project was completed, they had become a family of four.

Maple Valley, WAProject Spotlight
This project focused on reimagining the home’s main floor layout to create a more open and functional living space. The kitchen was opened to the main living area, improving flow and creating a brighter, more connected environment for everyday living and entertaining.
As part of the renovation, electrical and plumbing systems on both the first and second floors were updated to meet current code requirements. The primary suite was enhanced with the addition of a walk-in closet and heated tile floors in the primary bathroom, adding both comfort and convenience.
Additional upgrades included improvements to the home’s entry and staircase, giving the space a refreshed and modern feel. The washer and dryer were relocated beneath the staircase, allowing for a more efficient laundry and bathroom layout while increasing usable square footage.
The existing natural hardwood floors throughout the home were refinished using a whitewashed, water-based stain and finish, creating a lighter, modern look while preserving the character of the original wood.

Challenges - Here's what happened and how we handled it
This whole home remodel in Bellevue, Washington came with several challenges that required thoughtful planning and a strong design-build approach. As with many 1970s homes that have never been updated, our first priority was reworking the layout to create a more open and functional living space.
The existing kitchen was closed off from the living room, so we removed interior walls and installed new structural beams to safely carry the load. Opening the kitchen to the living room created the open concept space today’s Bellevue homeowners want, with better light, sightlines, and everyday functionality.
Another key challenge was maximizing livable space within the existing footprint instead of building an addition. We utilized the area under the stairs for storage and relocated the washer and dryer to a more efficient location, increasing usable space without expanding the home’s exterior.
Like many full house renovations on older homes, this project also required major electrical and plumbing updates. The original 1970s systems were replaced to meet current code, improve safety, and support modern kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry spaces—critical behind-the-walls work in any whole home remodel in Bellevue and the Eastside.
